Cisco WebEx is an online collaborative environment that allows multiple users to conduct meetings, training sessions, events and support sessions over the web. Use WebEx for web-based meetings, video conferencing, and remote desktop access; all of which can be coordinated with telephone conferencing.
The person scheduling the meeting must have a WebEx license; the other meeting attendees need only a web connection, and a telephone or computer speakers and mic. WebEx operates in any system environment that supports an Internet Explorer, Mozilla, Firefox, Netscape, Safari, or Google Chrome.
Available Services
UITS can provide you with a license that lets you use four WebEx products:
- Meeting Center—share presentations, desktop applications, online whiteboards and annotation tools, live chat, and video
- Support Center—remote desktop support and control
- Event Center—presentation by one person to many viewers
- Training Center—includes break-out sessions, threaded question-and-answer chat, and testing

Order a WebEx License
Please use our online form to get your account started.
New UA WebEx accounts require a minimum 3 month commitment.
You will be asked to provide the following information:
- Requester Name (required)
- Email (required)
This email address will be used for meeting notifications and communication from UITS regarding your WebEx account.
- Phone (required)
- Desired User Name
NetID permitted for individual account holders
- Department
- Billing Party Name
- Billing--Please note that Federal accounts 300000 to 419999 can be used for teleconferencing toll charges for WebEx accounts, but not for the installation and monthly license charges. Plant Fund accounts 800000 to 899999 cannot be used for any WebEx account charges.
- FRS account number for installation ($10)
- FRS account number for monthly license fee ($40/month)
- FRS account number for teleconferencing tolls

For a WebEx license:
$10 one time install
$40 a month
Teleconferencing rates:
- Toll-free dial in - $0.0575 per attendee per min. (User dials an assigned toll-free number.)
- WebEx Call-back - $0.0575 per attendee per min. (User has WebEx system call him/her.)
- WebEx VoIP call-in - First 25,000 minutes/month free; after which $0.02 per attendee per min. (User uses the WebEx VoIP access. This is not the same as someone calling in or being called by the system using a VoIP set.)
- CA number dial-in - $0.04 per attendee per min. (User dials into WebEx's California number. Normal long distance charges from line placing call to California number would be charged.)
- There is no WebEx charge for conferences not utilizing WebEx's telephone or voice conferencing coordination.
